On Tuesday, a woman named Khushboo Devi gave birth to a baby boy on the busy streets of Nawada, Bihar. The 27-year-old, who is the wife of Ajay Kumar from Lauhsinhani Bhaluahi village, went into labor unexpectedly while walking along the Nawada-Jamui road, near the railway crossing. Witnesses reported that Khushboo was seen in visible distress as she experienced intense labor pains in public.
As Khushboo struggled to cope with the contractions, Rinku Kumari, a private nurse from the nearby Patwasarai village, happened to be passing by. Recognizing the urgent need for assistance, Rinku immediately intervened and provided the necessary support for the delivery. With no nearby medical facilities to turn to, Rinku assisted in delivering the baby right on the street, despite the challenging conditions.
Tragically, while many bystanders gathered around to witness the scene, very few offered any help. This lack of community support during such a critical moment raised serious concerns about public awareness and responsiveness to emergencies. However, after the successful delivery, a male bystander took the initiative to call for help. The police team from Dial 112 arrived promptly.
Once on the scene, the police team carefully transported Khushboo and her newborn to the sadar hospital, where they received further medical attention and care. Medical professionals at the hospital reported that both mother and baby were in good health following the ordeal.
